Soft lift with threads in São Paulo

Who it is for

How I do it

When the contour of the face starts to drop and that little pouch we call a jowl appears along the jawline, there are different paths: restoring volume where it is lacking, repositioning the tissue or, in more advanced cases, surgery. A soft lift with threads is the way to reposition without incisions. Before recommending it, I assess the degree of laxity, the thickness of the skin and the weight of the tissues, because that is what shows whether threads will help in your case.

During the procedure, under local anesthesia, I place absorbable threads with tiny barbs under the skin through minimal entry points. They support the midface and jawline along vectors planned for your face and, as they are absorbed, they stimulate collagen production in the area. The idea is not to pull as hard as possible: excessive tension leaves the face looking pulled, and what I look for is light support, in line with Beleza de Precisão.

Threads are often part of a protocol, together with collagen biostimulators, lasers and, when volume is lacking, hyaluronic acid in small amounts or fat grafting. It is a different treatment from my fox eyes, which uses long-lasting threads only at the tail of the eyebrow. And when laxity is more advanced, with a lot of excess skin, I say clearly that surgery may be the indication.

What can happen

In the first few days, swelling, bruising, tenderness, a feeling of tightness and some temporary asymmetry are common, and for 1 to 2 weeks you need to avoid opening your mouth wide, eating hard foods and having facial massages. Less often, small dimples in the skin may appear, which usually improve within a few weeks, as well as palpable or exposed threads, temporary changes in sensation and infection, which is why the follow-up visit after the procedure is part of the treatment. The effect is temporary, results vary from person to person and long-term data are still limited. For advanced laxity, surgery may be the most appropriate option, and the consultation is always the first step.
